An old, moody candle called Grumpy lives on the windowsill of an old storeroom. When he meets Happy - a joyful, spirited, young candle - he is yanked out of his grey routine. Grumpy is confronted with his inmost fears when Happy decides to light up his wick to live his life at its best. Although Grumpy shies away and is not ready to adapt to the new situation, Happy shows him how colorful and beautiful life can be and slowly Grumpy begins to understand.

But will he be willing to embrace this new way of living even when he is confronted with death?
